Vice President of Sales & Marketing

John leads the sales efforts for strategic product categories in lighting (portable and hardwire), accent furniture and home decor products. He works with specific retail partners in various aspects of their businesses including product/factory sourcing, sales/ inventory analysis, merchandising, quality control, and category management. John has over 18 years’ experience originating with Jimco Lamp Company, now part of the Nielsen Bainbridge Group.

Daniel joined DSI in 2013 and works directly with the major key domestic & international accounts. Has a Master of Business Administration from the Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship.

Carolyn Shatzel

Carolyn Shatzel

National Account Manager

Carolyn joined DSI in 2006 and has over 10 years of experience with DSI in Sales and Account Management. As a National Account Manager, her primary responsibilities are to collaborate with private label design teams to successfully launch products into the market place. Carolyn builds retail marketing concepts, creates product packaging, and manages marketing strategies & promotions to help increase sales. Carolyn states that…“It is such a rewarding feeling to work with Engineering / Manufacturing and Design Teams for the development of new products from concept phase to launch.” Outside of the office Carolyn enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her husband Clayton, daughter Cassidy, son Clayton Jr. and French bulldog Colt.

Karissa Burton

Karissa Burton

International Import Manager

Karissa has 15 years of experience at DSI in operations, supply chain, logistics, and customer service. As manager of the Import Department, she alongside with other members of the Import Department Team, focus on communications with DSI’s overseas team in China, factory compliance, third party testing, governmental, and vendor regulations, domestic warehouse inventory management, on-time fulfillment of retailer orders, and communications with retailers regarding their orders. Karissa also oversees the Customer Service Team, drawing from her well-rounded understanding and knowledge of DSI’s product library. Earlier in her career at DSI, among other tasks, Karissa managed packaging, instruction manuals, and letters of credit presentations. Karissa earned her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University. When she is not in the office, she spends time with family and friends, is involved in animal rescue/pet adoptions, maintains her butterfly garden, and enjoys running.
